Los Angeles, CA — Songstress, Italia, and hip-hop producer, Valley Swerve, release atmospheric nu disco single, “Lady Moon”—streaming now on all major platforms, here.
Texas-based artists, Italia and Valley Swerve, release their latest single, “Lady Moon.” The nostalgic track features a rhythmic, synth-laced soundscape, with hypnotic vocals by Italia. Listeners will be transported back to a time when beat-driven hits boomed within the heady confines of the Crisco Disco and Studio 54.
Italia and Valley Swerve were eager to create a song that combined all of the elements reminiscent of the '70s disco trend that swept through radio stations this past summer. They realized that the recent disco-driven movement was producing minimal billboard hits, so they sat together in a studio contemplating ideas that involved a funky two-chord progression and simple drum beat.
“All the pieces fell together in place—especially Italia’s lyrics and melody,” says Valley Swerve. He believes that “Lady Moon” is the greatest collaboration that he and Italia could have shared with the world.
Valley Swerve is known for concocting future funk and vaporwave hits that combine elements of ambient music, trap percussion and vintage wavy samples. He continues to break genre boundaries with his infusions of anime, video games, and tropical and lo-fi aesthetics. Since 2017, Valley Swerve has released a number of singles and full-length beat tapes via Unnamed Soldiers Limited, including: “The Blue Light Special” and “Oni-Ism”. According to Valley Swerve, his music is “to be jammed on your old cassette boombox, on the beach of a stranded island, with your waifu.”
Born in Brownsville, Texas, Italia started making music on her guitar when she was 15 years old. Shortly after, she began experimenting with trap music. One of her most notable songs to date, is “Kawaii Life.” She enjoys all genres of music and wishes to explore each one during the span of her musical career.
