Actress, songwriter and philanthropist, Inbar Lavi, has teamed up with Benji Lewis for the release of their latest single, ‘Polaroids.’ Featuring warm melodies and an awe-inspiring duet, ‘Polaroids’ is a sun-kissed summer jam that will have you reminiscing about the golden era of youth—when what mattered most, was creating new and lasting memories with those held closest to your heart.
Connecting through social media during the pandemic, Lavi and Lewis discussed their mutual appreciation for each other’s work, and decided to virtually collaborate on a project together.
According to Lavi, “‘Polaroids’ came from a fan crush I have for Benji Lewis. There’s delicacy to his craft I can only strive for, so when he agreed to a duet, I couldn’t believe it.”
Speaking on the collaboration process, Lavi says, “We Zoomed up with Rynn [Kempthorn] and Julian Feifel (our amazing co-writers) during Covid days (Julian and myself in LA, Rynn in Texas, and Benji in Australia), with harmony and Wi-Fi bridging us all together. The magnificent Maxwell Byrne jumped on to really elevate the track to the next level.”
As for the track’s significance, “‘Polaroids’ can mean different things to different people,” explains Lavi. “To me, it’s a yearning. An echo of feeling connected and separated at the same time. With a through line of faded memories and the hope of making new ones.”
Following the release of Lavi’s debut track, ‘Puppet Master,’ ‘Polaroids’ is the second installment of her newly launched solo artist project.
Aside from her burgeoning career in the music industry, you may have spotted Lavi on the hit Netflix series, Lucifer, where she reprised the role of Eve (the first woman created; mother to Cain and Abel) on Part B of the show’s fifth season.
Prior to her role on Lucifer, she starred in Bravo’s original scripted series, Imposters, as Maddie Jonson—a charismatic con-artist and femme fatale, who robbed her victims of more than just their hearts.
After the pandemic hit, Lavi decided to extend her multifaceted talents even further by creating her own fashion label, LAVI; she then contributed all of the proceeds to female-owned businesses that had been affected by the devastating disease. In addition, the brand has launched two luxury sunglasses lines alongside Saint Owen, and will be debuting a line of loungewear later this summer.
Furthermore, Lavi is an ambassador of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and the Make-A-Wish Israel Foundation; she also volunteers at Our Big Kitchen Los Angeles—a community-operated kosher kitchen that brings people together to support those in need.
Lavi is constantly evolving and expanding her creative vision. She is scheduled to release new music throughout 2021, so stay tuned!
