French DJ, record producer and musician, Kungs, releases his latest single, ‘Never Going Home,’ from his upcoming new album scheduled to drop later this year. The captivating summer jam features a fierce combination of silver-tongued vocals, scintillating synths and a wicked bassline.
As the pandemic brought the world to a halt, causing a whirlwind of stress and uncertainty for everyone, Kungs became one of the first electronic music artists to create a safe hub for festive and supportive gatherings during the intense lockdown.
His innovative concept (coined Club Azur) was simple: a virtual party every Saturday night, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. During this time, Kungs would meet up with his childhood friend, Victor Soulisse, at Le Sacré, in Paris, where the pair would hold livestreams that they would broadcast on Zoom and Twitch.
The digital club became a unifying and interactive space, with guest DJ appearances from the likes of Martin Solveig, Bob Sinclar and Myd. Acclaimed YouTubers, chefs and comedians, such as Roman Frayssinet, Jérôme Niel and Alison Wheeler, also graced the stage.
With over 2 billion streams and counting, Kungs has become a force in the French electronic music scene. His global hit track, ‘This Girl,’ catapulted to #1 in 45 countries, with over 1.5 billion copies sold throughout the UK. His debut album, Layers, sold over 1.2 million copies worldwide and also won him a sought-after French Grammy. ‘Never Going Home’ is his first release of the new year, giving fans a delightful taste of what’s to come on his highly anticipated second album.
