Codefendants Pave Way with Genre Fluid Pop Punk Release “Bruitiful”
Los Angeles, CA — Newfound multi-genre band, the Codefendants, release their latest pop punk single “Brutiful” off their debut album ‘This is Crime Wave’ — streaming now on all major platforms.
The Codefendants' latest release "Brutiful" off the band’s debut album ‘This is Crime Wave’ is a collaboration with punk rock legend Fat Mike of NOFX, and was released on his new label imprint Bottles to the Ground. The track features hooky and witty uplifting lyrics and a dynamic vocal performance from Ceschi of Fake Four Inc. and Sam King of Get Dead, promising an energetic and compelling listening experience.
A rollercoaster of a track, “Brutiful” by the Codefendants has mastered the elements of pacing as it takes it’s listener on a journey through soft vocals and instrumental melodies to crowd thrashing highs on the chorus. It was a well calculated risk that paid off on release day and will continue to pay off being heard live around the world.
Featuring the group’s self-coined genre “Crime Wave,” the group refuses to fall into a genre bucket and has decided to remain genre-fluid as they tap into production and melodic elements from hip hop, new-wave, pop, punk, and more. This is what makes the Codefendants shine as a top act in the indie scene.
