Los Angeles, CA — Musician, songwriter, and vocalist Lloyd Ratalsky, best known as Burn Like Stars, releases thunderous metalcore single, “Hate.” Stream "Hate" today on Spotify, here!
Burn Like Stars releases his new single, “Hate.” An eclectic track, “Hate” effortlessly blends elements of emo pop, post-rock and progressive rock into an uproar of emotion. Starting off with a mellow acoustic buildup, “Hate” progresses into a burst of energetic vocals, leaving listeners eager for more.
“The story behind "Hate" is all about toxic relationships, and no matter how hard you try to let go and move on, there's always going to be some level of love for that person,” shares Burn Like Stars.
Singer-songwriter, Lloyd Ratalsky, has brought forth a range of talents under his solo artist name, Burn Like Stars—which was created in 2020, following his departure from metalcore band, Frequent Misconceptions. Resolute, nothing could stop Burn Like Stars from following his passion and continuing his musical career.
His first single, “Hey You” was released in January of 2021. The upbeat track garnered incredible reviews, which further fueled Burn Like Star’s inventiveness. By May, metalcore fans rejoiced as he released his second single, “Shattered Shell.” The track was featured on YouTube and various Twitch reaction channels, such as: JMR Music Reviews, Spaceuntravel, and OhrionReacts.
Burn Like Stars maintains that hard work and dedication have helped him pave his way to success.
“I’ve never taken any one-on-one vocal lessons. I learned by doing, from artists like Freddy Mercury, Jonathan Davis, and Justin Timberlake,” explains Burn Like Stars. “I surround myself with musicians better than me and push myself to work harder.”
Although he grew up amidst the post-hardcore music scene, his vision is to create an ever-evolving sound.
“I make a point to learn from whomever I’m working with. I can play electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass, drums and keys. I try to make myself comfortable enough with all instruments so I can better understand the writing process,” says Burn Like Stars.
As for his motivation, he shares, “The people I love, suffering and not feeling their best, they inspire me. I try to deliver a relatable message when creating music…“I want my music to deliver positive messages to people, whether they are doing fine in life or they’re struggling to get by.”
In addition to his endeavors, Burn Like Stars is the co-host of a Facebook music reaction show called Local Band Smokeout, where he helps artists and bands of all genres promote their music through interviews on live streams.
Looking ahead, Burn Like Stars still has a few exciting projects up his sleeves before the year comes to a close—including two new singles and their accompanying music videos, and an EP release as well.
